New Wine
We will be releasing a new wine starting today at Chinqua Penn. The 2008 Chinqua Penn Vineyards Niagara is a fruity, semi-sweet, fresh tasting white wine grown in Rockingham County by Bryce and Sara Richardson. 1 1/2 tons of Niagara were harvested on August 30th, yielding 99 cases of this wine. Previous vintages of Niagara have won numerous awards and sold out fast. Drop by the Chinqua Penn Tasting Room any day between today (Dec 29) through January 4th and taste this wine of free.
New Award
We have just learned that the 2007 Chinqua Penn Red Muscadine has received a gold medal at the 2008 Wines of the South Wine Competition. Containing grapes from the estate grape arbor, this red wine is mostly made from the Noble Muscadine grape. This wine also won awards at the NC State Fair and the Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition. The 2008 Wines of the South Wine Competition award ceremony will take place in Nashville in February. Wines from 14 southern states compete in this competition.
