Clock Tower: Adjacent to the Lodge Group is the stone clock tower built in 1928. The lower level was used to smoke meat, and the three upper floors contain the Deagan Chimes and Edward Howard clock works. The four clock faces are controlled by the Howard mechanism and over a week's period, gravity lowers the 450-pound weight, turning the gears to keep time.

tour-pagodaPagoda: Completed in 1932, the design for the Oriental pagoda was conceived by the Penns during their world tour in 1929. Constructed of stone with red wooden railings and a tile roof, the structure served as the bath house for the 85,000 gallon swimming pool. The large sculptured stone horse, camel, priest, and warrior were shipped from Japan and date to circa 700-750 A.D.
tour-greenhousesLutton Greenhouses: The greenhouses and cold frames were purchased by the Penns in 1928 from Jersey City, New Jersey. The wood, steel and glass structure has a spacious head house and five bay areas.
*Please note that artifacts are routinely rotated from both the Penn and Phelps family collections. Items mentioned in this tour may or may not be on display during your visit to Chinqua Penn.
